O.K., what the heck is this, exactly?
StylusCity.org is a web structure built to connect independent music professionals with each other and the public. It's also created to help the public find outlets for their non-commercial music cravings.

That's terrific, but how do I use it?
Excellent question. The easiest way to work it is to sign up. You'll create a User Handle and be able to do a lot more things than just browse. Currently, you can do such things as: * Search a nation-wide list of over 1800 independent record stores and over 1600 radio stations. * Find stores and radio stations in your city. * Review said stores and stations and post them to the world. * Keep up to date by signing up for the mailing lists of your choice. (COMING SOON) * Post Events to your city's page to advertise all the happenings that are happenin'. (COMING SOON) * Update your personal page by adding photos, news, and connections between other users. (COMING SOONEST)

Interesting. Well, how do I search that nation-wide-something-or-other?
You've got two options. You can always, no matter which part of the site you're in, do a quick search through the 'search' field at the top of the page. Also, you can click 'Search' in the sidebar (to your left) to go to a (currently) slightly less simplistic search page. You can tab between the Stores and Radio results, and to view any item in particular, click its link to go to its information page.

Gotcha. How about finding stores in my city?
Really, you surprise me. It's as simple as clicking the 'Cities' link in the aforementioned sidebar. Once there, you select your city from the list and go right to it. The results are tabbed a la the search page, described above. Also included is the 'Events' tab, which acts as a calendar displaying all the stuff going on in your city on that particular date (or the date you select in the calendar).

Oh, I see. I guess that is easy. Where does the review part happen?
On any page (for Stores and Radio, with Events and so on upcoming), click the 'Review' tab. You can read other people's reviews there and submit one of your own, if the mood hits ya.

Plans for the future?
Oh, you know it. We plan on including a comprehensive list of Venues, Labels and Distribution companies, in addition to rounding out the particulars for each Store and Radio Station. There will be extensive work put in towards fleshing out the 'User' page, as well, to allow y'all to connect with each other and upload photos and, well, all kinds of shit. Stay tuned, because that's just the tip of the iceberg. Also, your thoughts are highly appreciated, and best taken to the Feedback page.
